The office is buzzing – there are people doing phonebanking, data entry, PR, receiving ballots (a bell rings and everyone cheers each time we receive a ballot), selling tzachkes, etc… It’s one big open room and couldn’t be a more diverse crew of people. It’s great seeing that this is also the great equalizer. John Malman (Bowzer from Sha na na) is even calling folks down to do volunteering. In fact, a woman came in today to see if she could lead talks – but there are enough folks to do surrogate talking – so she learned the data entry tool. I’m doing spreadsheet work, calling folks down and many other things – and will be a volunteer captain for Palm Beach. The woman next to me is an amazing person who is a writer (did primary speech writing for Bill Clinton) and is here doing any and everything needed.
She – and others – continue to help me realize that the best part of this campaign (besides working to get Obama elected) is the array, quality and depth of people involved in the campaign.
